This Advanced Life Support (Level 1) course is accredited by the Australian Resuscitation Council and is suitable for healthcare professionals including doctors, medical students, nurses, dentists, midwives and paramedics.
A one-day Australian Resuscitation Council accredited Advanced Life Support (Level 1) course aimed at providing the candidate with the skills and knowledge to manage the patient in the immediate period of crisis. It includes the recognition, assessment and immediate management of the deteriorating patient, along with the skills for dealing with a cardiac arrest or other medical emergencies in a clinical setting.
The course commences at 8.00am and concludes at approximately 4.00pm.
Tea, coffee and catered lunch is included.

Elite Seminars is accredited by the Australian Resuscitation Council as a provider of ALS-1 courses.
Australian Resuscitation Council Advanced Life Support (Level 1) Course Content:
• Recognition, assessment and management of the critically ill patient using a structured ABCDE approach (aiming to prevent cardiac arrest)
• Airway management skills
• Basic Life Support
• Defibrillation skills (Manual and/or AED modes)
• Cardiac arrest management using the ARC ALS Algorithm
• Work as an effective team member in a cardiac arrest
Candidates will be sent an ALS-1 manual prior to the course which should be read in preparation for the face-to-face component.
Candidates who successfully complete the course will receive an Australian Resuscitation Council ALS1 certificate valid for 4 years.
Please note: Candidates must attend the entire face-to-face elements of the course. A candidate’s competency is continuously assessed during the course. A candidate is not guaranteed an automatic pass merely for attending the course.
